An Evil Genius… minus the “evil”
The Daniel, he is a mastermind. Sometimes his genius frightens me. I design my blog. I rejoice. I change the wrong semicolon in the code. I weep. Daniel whips out his little black box (he calls it a “command” “prompt”) and VOILA! A new home for Daring Young Mom.
He has spent hours and hours of work and I have spent hours and hours of play making this all possible. I know there are still weird bugs and things that have to be tweaked.
Please let me know if you have problems with anything on the site. I am mostly responsible for the code and I know nothing about code. He has spent scads of time cleaning up my messes and he’d love more to clean up, so give him a challenge. I dare you.
Is it slow to load? (Please don’t respond to this if you’re still using your grandma’s 386 with 16MB of memory. I love you but cannot accommodate you on this site. Let me know and I’ll send you a plain text email of my posts.)
Do things go wonky in your weird-open-source-Macish-save-the-world-from-software-monopolies browser? (I would like to try to accommodate you. Feel the love man and pass the tie-dyed onesies.)
Do you think my floating head is too pretentious now on its framed cushion of velveteen fabric?
How can I better serve you on this blog? Need a new shoe-lace or just a hug? Please, let me know your wants and needs and I will try to address them expeditiously.

So, I get up and go to the computer, check my email, check my blog, consider that I’d like to do some redesigning, but then reconsider with this logic: well, it’s not bad to have a consistent look, it’s comforting on some level for people to be able to show up to the same “place” everyday. Take Kathryn. She hasn’t changed her blog. So I’m okay for now.” Then I click over to your site and Voila! Now I have to wait for my mastermind to get home, so that I (he) can make some changes.
It looks grand. It works on Mozilla. When the page first loads for me it all comes up red for a second and then switches to white.

I think it’s great that you have your own new site - inspiring. I’ve always wondered why you didn’t have your very own site name and design. Blogger is unworthy…I’m finding out Blogger is unworthy in general, actually.

Can I request you not do the “read more” thing on every single entry? Sometimes I want to catch up on a few entries at one shot and I have to keep clicking back and forth from the full entry back to the home page and then to the next full entry.
Your regular readers will want to read your full entries anyway so putting “read more” just makes them have to click an extra link before they can get to where they wanna be. I personally find this rather frustrating. It is like when Yahoo tells me I have 3 new mails in my inbox — show me the inbox already, then! Sheesh! (Sorry, angst escaping. Not taking it out on you. Just tellin’, is all…)
