Friends

blackbirdI saw this today and thought of Blackbird. She was the first blogger with real live human non-immediate-family-member readers who linked to my site. We were tight for awhile but like blogging friends tend to do (Except of course me and you. We will be BBFFs ALWAYS), we kind of drifted apart.

I check in on her sometimes and this reminder gave me a good laugh at the grocery store. I still gotta get me one of those bad boys. There are much tackier things I could do this Christmas and things I could spend $150 on that would be much more likely to blow away in a strong wind, Iā€™m sure.

Scroll to the bottom of this post for the story behind the giant snow globe.

Do you have any blog friends you’ve drifted away from but would like to give a shout out to?ƂĀ  Leave their URL in the comments section.

I’ve just seen my first giant snowglobe! They’ve crossed the ocean and reached the UK! Madness! šŸ˜†

  2. Heth says:

BBFF! Wanna get one of those heart necklaces with a piece for each of us?

  3. Tess says:

shout out to Faithful Mommy who I don’t know why I haven’t visited lately. So sorry! ——->off to rekindle the friendship

It’s funny how that happens. You read a great blog everyday for a month or so and then you just, I don’t even know, stop. And then you check on them one day when you remember again and they’re gone. Yes DYM we’re bbff! lol

Too many to count since I’ve been drifting from the blog world forever. But I want to give a shout out to all those who still stop by my blog and haven’t forgotten me!

…and you know, it really boils down to my constant tailoring of my reading list. I really don’t read the blogs of moms with small kids – their lives are too different.
I do check in on you now and then.
And I’m glad you didn’t buy the giant snow globe –
I couldn’t be friends with you if you did.

I read one blog religiously for a while, but then she wrote about how her kids bathe every single day and how she wears size extra small Anne Taylor clothes and I just had to dump her. Who can hang out with friends that make you look bad? But I guess that wasn’t the point of your post Ho hum. Sorry šŸ™‚

Every time I see those snow globes, I think of you and Blackbird. And I think, yes, there are so many other things I would rather spend $100 on.

I just bought a snowglobe for our yard! It features the Rankin/Bass’s Rudolph, Yukon Sam, and the Abominable Snow Monster. I think I’ll put it right alongside the yard nativity. The homeowner’s association is going to have a fit.

I haven’t visited YOU as much as I used to, K. But I just haven’t been online as much, either. I’ve missed ya!

  10. Tigersue says:

I miss going to lots of blogs because my blogrolling does not always show the updates. So then I forget to just go check them out! šŸ™‚
I imagine I will not be so good about it until after Christmas, but the one I miss the most is David at the Whole Note. He is publishing a bit more again, but he doesn’t make it around as much after being sick.

It is weird how that happens. I remember that there were people who would visit and comment on my blog all the time, and now they have disappeared.

JulieQ were you talking about me? I’ll totally stop bathing my kids if it’ll make you happy šŸ˜‰
