It’s A FREEZE

We’re all snowed and iced in around here.
Dan’s playing computer games. I’m blogging paying bills. Magoo’s reading sonnets. Seriously, this book of Shakespeare’s Sonnets is his favorite.
When asked to describe the snow, Laylee said it was “frosty”, “melt-able” and “skate-able.”
I made a snow angel and she made a “kid angel.”
We’re having the coldest Seattle night in 8 years tonight (almost as cold as an average winter day in Calgary). We have at least 2 inches of snow so Dan’s entire office took a snow day. The schools are all closed and kids are sledding down our cul-de-sac until they run into the garage door at the bottom.
Good times. Maybe we’ll do a Tip Tuesday tomorrow.

It’s a sad commentary on my life that when I saw this big storm on the news last night, the first person I thought of was you, whom I’ve never met except through blog posts:) Hoping you were not in the craptacular traffic but snuggled in warm with your fam.
Love “kid” angel. I’m actually wishing for snow… (Christmases are always a muddy green here and I grew up in Colorado - now THAT’s snow!) Send some our way?

I wish we had a snow day over here on the east side. All we’ve gotten is about 1/8 of an inch.

My daughter, for the past 3 weeks, has awakened every morning saying, “It’s gonna snow today!” despite the fact that it has been in the mid to high 60’s most days. We just got our tree while wearing t-shirts. Yet, I think after weeks of wishful thinking, I do believe her wish will come true tomorrow. Then I can pull out the hot chocolate avec marshmellows of course and take them to the hill just down the road to whiz down it. I’m hoping that it’s a closed school day too…

We had an inch of snow and school’s been closed for two days now. It’s really cold, though, and icy. I think it’s kind of nice to be stuck inside. (My husband went to work, though, leaving me with the kids and laundry.)

As a kid I loved that Seattle couldn’t cope with large amounts of snow. Even the slightest bit of snow meant at least a school delay! When I moved to other, more snowy, states I was disappointed to never have snow days without several feet of snow in the early morning. Tragically, it took one school district the death of four students to learn that sometimes ya just gotta close down for the weather =C
